Our parks offer great spaces to play sports. We offer some two sports programs, Golf First Tee Program and our Adult Softball Leagues. Check out where you can play sports below!
Baseball
Diamonds can be found in Clear Creek and Springwood parks.
If you're looking to sign up for children's Tee Ball or other baseball programs, check out the Richmond Family YMCA or the Richmond Evening Optimists (REO).
Basketball
Basketball courts are located at Clear Creek, West Side Lions, and Freeman Park. Check out the Map of Richmond's Parks to find the best location for you!

Golf
Highland Lake Golf Course is an eighteen hole championship golf course with large greens kept fast and beautiful.
The First Tee Program for kids is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. Registration Required. Click here for more information!
Disc Golf
Clear Creek Park has Disc Golf. In 2015, Glen Miller Park added a Disc Golf course. For more information about the group that arranged the course, please visit the Eastern Indiana Disc Golf Association Facebook page.
Horseshoe
Clear Creek Park offers horseshoe pits.
Rose City Horseshoe League meets the first Thursday in May, and then competes every Thursday Night at the Horseshoe Courts at Clear Creek Park. Teams are made up of any combination of 4 men, women or youth. Length of season depends on amount of teams, but generally lasts 10-12 weeks. A two-person Team Fall League starts two weeks after the summer League ends and lasts until the end of September. All are welcome to join! Running/Walking
Running/Walking is available throughout our parks. Please be aware of traffic when running or walking on roads. Glen Miller Park offers the former Glen Miller Golf Course with paved cart trails available to walkers and runners.
Every December the Parks Department hosts The Rosemary Weigel Frostbite 5K. The Frostbite 5K is part of the Wayne County Challenge.
Soccer
Soccer fields are located at Freeman Park.
Freeman Park is the location of the Challenger Soccer Camp, where kids learn the fundamentals from British soccer instructors! Click here for more information!
If you're looking to sign up for children's soccer programs, check out the Richmond Family YMCA. Family Fitness Works Sports Plex also offers Soccer programs.
Softball
Diamonds can be found in Clear Creek and Springwood Parks.
Softball Adult Leagues are offered. Look for Registration in February. Industrial, Commercial, Co-ed groups can be teams in the league.
Monday and Tuesday evenings: Industrial Teams
Wednesday evenings: Commercial Teams play
Thursday evenings: Co-ed Teams play
Friday nights: Church Teams (not affiliated with the Parks Department) utilize our fields
Saturdays and Sundays: Travel Teams use our field on weekends.
Swimming
The Cordell Municipal Pool offers swimming in the summer. In the mornings, the pool offers Learn to Swim Programs, Adult Lap Swim (for those 18 and over), and Family Night.
Tennis
Come play tennis in our parks! Tennis courts are located in Glen Miller Park, across from the Parks Office, and at Clear Creek Park.
