The adoption of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, which serves as a ‘road map’ in planning future transportation facilities.
The plan was developed in large part from community input. More than 100 residents attended public meetings, to give input and highlight positive and negative aspects of transportation in Richmond. Online surveys were available for those who could not attend the public meetings. Ouf of the expected 50 responses the Cityt received close to 400.
The City looks forward to utilizing this plan to guide development for alternate transportation into the future. Implementing recommendations of the plan have the potential to greatly improve bicycle and pedestrian safety in Richmond and to highlight the many associated benefits to the health and wellness of its residents.
