General Definition of Work

Performs intermediate manual work cleaning and maintaining the Senior Center, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the close supervision of the Senior Recreation Services Coordinator.

Essential Functions

Mops restrooms, cafeteria, and hallways on regular basis.

Cleans toilets and restroom.

Dusts gym and hallways.

Performs general maintenance, trash pickup, and watering plants.

Operates vacuum cleaner.

Cleans windows and mirrors.

Cleans up litter in the parking lot.

Cleans carpets and chairs as needed.

Insures general order of building furniture placement.

Oversees building during rentals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Working knowledge of the principles, practices, equipment, tools, and materials used in cleaning and maintaining facilities and building; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, department heads, other departments, and the general public.

Education and Experience

High School diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires repetitive motions and occasionally requires speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
