Tree Tenders is a dedicated group of volunteers who devote their time to planting and caring for trees in parts of the city that lack shade-providing trees and the benefits they offer to the community. They plan to plant over 60 trees this fall with all native species including pecan, black gum, and red oak.

They will be hosting tree plantings events on three Saturdays this November. Anyone interested in volunteering during the event just needs to show up at the location with closed toed shoes, and their own gloves. If you want to volunteer but none of the dates work, please email Izzy Waterman (treetendersrichmond@gmail.com) as she will be scheduling more volunteer days and will take availability into consideration.
