We need your input!
Starting next week, the City of Richmond will be hosting the final two public meetings to gain community insight on the City’s Heat Management Strategy being developed for summer 2022. The Heat Management Strategy is a part of the City’s “Beat the Heat” program.
The “Beat the Heat” program is a two-year, grant-funded initiative created by the Indiana University Environmental Resilience Institute and funded by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, Reid Health, and the City of Richmond. The “Beat the Heat” program works to help the City of Richmond deal with the public health impacts of extreme heat.
The meetings starting next week are a part of the second round of “Beat the Heat” meetings. The first round, which occurred in March, aimed to share the results of the community input gathered over the past few months. The upcoming second round of meetings will focus on reviewing the strategies that are currently anticipated to be included in the City’s Heat Management Strategy. The in-person and virtual meeting will contain the same information.
The in-person meeting will be held in the 3rd floor council chambers at the Richmond Municipal Building (50 N 5th Street, Richmond, IN 47374).
