Matt is currently the GIS Coordinator for the Wayne County Surveyor’s office in Richmond. Matt graduated from Earlham College in 2018, majoring in geology and minoring in chemistry

Matt became invested in GIS and sustainability in local government when interning with the Surveyor’s office for about 1.5 years from 2017 to 2018. Soon after graduating from Earlham, he joined the City of Richmond, primarily working with GIS, but also assisting with planning and zoning at various times.

He has been employed with Wayne County Government full-time since June of 2021. Matt has chaired Richmond’s Environmental Sustainability Commission since 2021 and has been a member of their Board of Public Works & Safety since mid-2019.
