Captain James Doll is a proud U.S. Army veteran with over 22 years of dedicated service at the Richmond Police Department. In his current role within the Professional Standards Division, Captain Doll oversees policy development, internal affairs investigations, and various initiatives to maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the department. Throughout his career, Captain Doll has held progressively responsible leadership positions, gaining extensive experience in the patrol division as a Patrol Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain/Shift Commander. He also served as a SWAT team leader, managing critical incident responses and implementing essential training programs. Additionally, he was the department's case manager in the Investigative Services Division, further enhancing his expertise in law enforcement operations.
Captain Doll is an Indiana Law Enforcement Academy graduate with a master’s in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. He has completed numerous law enforcement training programs, including leadership, internal affairs, criminal investigations, and critical incident response
