About

Captain Jury began his career as a correctional officer before joining the Richmond Police Department (RPD) as a patrolman in 2002. Captain Jury spent the first four years of his career with the RPD in the patrol division, earning a reputation as a hardworking and dedicated police officer. Captain Jury then advanced through the ranks and spent two years working in the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) before being deputized as a federal task force officer, working hand in hand with multiple local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies for the next ten years. During this time, Captain Jury investigated the illegal distribution of drugs, gun crimes, and money laundering crimes, as well as conspiracy to commit those crimes. In 2018, Captain Jury was promoted to Sergeant and received his first supervisory assignment as a first-shift patrol supervisor. From there, Captain Jury spent the next four years supervising all three patrol shifts, earning promotions to Lieutenant and then Captain.

After being promoted to Captain, Captain Jury was selected to lead the SIU for a short period of time before being assigned as the Captain of the Investigative Services Division. Captain Jury is a graduate of the 152nd Indiana Law Enforcement Academy class. He is currently a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Indiana Drug Enforcement Association, and a prior member of the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators. Captain Jury also has received a vast array of specialized training as it pertains to federal and local law enforcement and leadership.

Captain Jury’s experience has been focused on several specialty functions to address community needs. Captain Jury recognizes that teamwork and networking are the cornerstone upon which a successful law enforcement department is built, and he has been instrumental in developing relationships with other local, state, and federal partners.

During Captain Jury’s career, he has earned recognition and awards for his exemplary performance, knowledge, and experience in many complicated investigations. Captain Jury enjoys utilizing his multi-faceted training and experience in the constant pursuit of excellence and accountability with his assignment of commanding the Investigative Services Division.
