The Federal Transit Act provides federal funds for operating and capital expenses to public transit systems. Through a yearly application to INDOT (Indiana Department of Transportation), the city requests federal and state monies for all aspects of daily operations and for purchasing equipment such as vans and buses. The City also applies yearly for a grant from Area 9 Agency, to supplement the cost of paratransit drivers.
