LEAF COLLECTION WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
The Richmond Street Department will begin Leaf Collection on Monday, October 20, 2008, and will run through December 5th, weather permitting. Leaves are to be raked into the street two feet from the curb and will be collected approximately once every 10 days, weather permitting. ONLY LEAVES ARE TO BE PUT IN THE PILES! Absolutely no grass clippings, limbs, garden waste, shrubs, flowers, etc., can be put in the piles as this type of debris will clog the machines which will cause delays in collection. The Richmond Sanitary District will pick up leaves along all State Right-of-Ways. This includes U.S. 27, U.S. 40 and S.R. 227 South (Boston Pike). These leaves are to be bagged and the resident must call the Sanitary District for a Special Pick Up. Residents are limited to ten 30-gallon bags of leaves per week. If you have any questions, please contact the Richmond Street Department Office at 983-7225. |
