Records Division provides the following services:

• Taxi Permits
• Gun Permits
• Criminal History Checks
• Copies of Incident Reports & Info-Only Reports

Records Division also keeps a current copy of local warrants and the Sex Offender book. This information is provided upon request.

Taxi Permits

$5.00 and $3.00 for renewal
Taxi permits are good for one (1) full year
To be eligible for taxi permits, one must:

• not have any felony convictions
• not have any misdemeanor convictions within three (3) years of application

Gun Permits

$10.00 Handling Fee for a 4 yr. permit at the time of application, plus a $15 Postal Money Order to be sent to the Indiana State Police at the time of submission.

To be eligible for an Indiana gun permit through the City of Richmond, one must:

• not have any felony convictions
• not have any domestic battery convictions
• live within city limits
• have picture ID with current address

Criminal History Checks

As a service to the community, the Records Division processes Criminal History Checks.  These checks are often requested by potential employers or landlords.
