The Department of Law for the City of Richmond is responsible for the preparation of all contracts for each department within the City of Richmond. In addition, the Department prepares all ordinances that go before Richmond Common Council. All unpaid ordinance violations are sent to the law department for processing and filing with Wayne Superior Court No. 3. The Department also provides counsel to the various departments, agencies and boards for the City of Richmond.
