Welcome to the “working” side of Richmond Indiana. My name is Phil Quinn and as a councilman elect and a business owner, I’d like to point out there are several facets of “working” just as there are for living and playing. Here are suggestions to you about bringing a business to Richmond Indiana.
First, if I were coming here I would download our community's Comprehensive Plan to read the goals local leaders have established as the direction of the city government. I would then contact the Richmond Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County. Depending on your venture, these two “arms” of our community lend incredible support from concepts and funding possibilities, as well as networking and research. If I were going into retail, I would especially download the Buxton Study from the chamber site and get a representative of the two organizations above to explain the meat and potatoes of what the study says.
If I were building a new facility, I’d meet with Tony Foster from our Metropolitan Development Department. The City of Richmond wants to work with new businesses and help them understand, up front, what the vision and possibilities the development site can provide, based on its location and current zoning.
Finally, read the following statement closely; Richmond is a great place for any type of business. We have a loyal workforce compared to other parts of the country and we are continuing to have community wide focus on education to supply your company with a qualified, healthy, educated workforce. Our location is nice, but our strongest asset is our people.
So, let’s get to work on your business! “How can Richmond help you?”
