Dr. Benjamin Harrison Walker Historic Tree Planting

Glen Miller Park, Richmond, IN - Dr. Benjamin Harrison Walker, great grandson of President Benjamin Harrison, planted an Indiana Tulip Poplar tree today on the shores of Glen Miller Lake in Glen Miller Park. It was 113 years ago on August 6, 1895 that then Former President Benjamin Harrison planted a white ash tree. The Indiana Tulip Poplar is located on the north shore at the west end of the lake. It stands close by the tree planted by President Benjamin Harrison.

Richmond, INA proposed affordable housing development, known as Nine North, is applying to U.S. Internal Revenue Service’s Low Income Housing Tax Credits Program through Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority (IHCDA) for tax credits for assistance in financing.

RoseView Transit Unveils Bike Racks

Richmond, IN – The City of Richmond will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new bike racks that have been installed on all the Rose View Transit buses. The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, April 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the Municipal Building parking lot.

Change in Administration for UEA Program

 

February 14, 2008 – Main Street Richmond Wayne County and Richmond Urban Enterprise Association (UEA) jointly announced a change in administration for the UEA program. The Main Street organization in January notified the UEA of their intent to terminate their contract to provide administrative services to the UEA effective March 1, 2008.Read more here!

Coca-Cola and National Recycling Coalition to Provide 2,500 Recycle Bins through Bin Grant Program

WASHINGTON D.C. (JAN.23, 2008) – The National Recycling Coalition (NRC) and Coca-Cola are helping 76 organizations fulfill their New Year’s resolutions to recycle more and waste less. This January, the NRC will be busy contacting the recipients of the 2007 Bin Grant program to offer its recycling expertise and arrange for the shipment of 2,500 recycle bins. Read More Here!
