LEAF COLLECTION WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS
The Richmond Street Department will begin Leaf Collection on Monday, October 20, 2008, and will run through December 5th, weather permitting.
Leaves are to be raked into the street two feet from the curb and will be collected approximately once every 10 days, weather permitting. ONLY LEAVES ARE TO BE PUT IN THE PILES! Absolutely no grass clippings, limbs, garden waste, shrubs, flowers, etc., can be put in the piles as this type of debris will clog the machines which will cause delays in collection.
The Richmond Sanitary District will pick up leaves along all State Right-of-Ways. This includes U.S. 27, U.S. 40 and S.R. 227 South (Boston Pike). These leaves are to be bagged and the resident must call the Sanitary District for a Special Pick Up. Residents are limited to ten 30-gallon bags of leaves per week.
If you have any questions, please contact the Richmond Street Department Office at 983-7225. |

Public open space is not a leftover of little importance but it is rather the central artery where democracy flows and enriches community. Public open space must be linked consequentially to the entire community in order to promote good and healthy function that supports a good quality of life. Students fom this department explored 46 seperate projects which represent a creative effort to interpret and envision public open space in Richmond, Indiana. Please review these presentations by selecting the Forms and Reports tab above.
Its major purpose is to invite engagement and civic dialogue toward the articulation of a program of action for comprehensive improvement and capture of the open space opportunities in Richmond that will make the city an attractive place to live, relocate, work, and recreate. These are neither perfect nor final concepts but rather “burrs in the saddle” that may cause a stop to address conditions, ponder solutions. and effect the convenient and appropriate change.
If you would like a copy of the entire document at a higher resolution, or would like to discuss the study further; please contact the Department of Metropolitan Development at (765) 983-7217 or
