73.06 Riding on Sidewalks
73.06 RIDING ON SIDEWALKS
      
(a)        No person shall ride a bicycle on a sidewalk within the central business district, except in those portions of sidewalk designated by the Board as “Bicycle Routes,” which shall be appropriately signed and marked as portions of the bicycle routes.
      
(b)        The Board is authorized to erect signs on any sidewalk or roadway prohibiting the riding of bicycles thereon by any person and when the signs are in place no person shall disobey the signs.
      
(c)        No person 15 or more years of age shall ride a bicycle on any sidewalk in any district, except when operating the bicycle in the course of his business, trade, or employment, or except in those portions of sidewalks designated by the Board as “Bicycle Routes,” which shall be appropriately signed and marked as portions of the bicycle routes. 
     
(d)        Whenever any person is riding a bicycle on a sidewalk, the person shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian and shall give audible signal before overtaking and passing a pedestrian. (Ord. 1781-1960; Ord. 3152-1976)
